The House is holding a hearing on the final recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future to the Secretary of Energy on Wednesday, February 1. It’s being held by the Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy at 9:30 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The BRC was asked to “conduct a comprehensive review of policies for managing the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle and recommend a new strategy”—in other words, figuring out what to do with waste from nuclear power reactors.
