Keep Track of Celeb Whereabouts With Spokeo’s ‘Recently Spotted’ Feature!:

You may have noticed that we’ve been blogging a lot about our huge, new Famous Person search feature, which allows you to search the name of any famous person, living or dead, and quickly get tons of information (bio/timeline, news, photos, videos etc.). It’s an exciting addition to our people search site, and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback thus far. Last week I explained a little bit about our Celeb Timeline feature and how it works. This week, however, I thought I’d take a closer look at "Places," a very cool feature which uses the power of the Twittersphere to track the wherabouts of your favorite celebrities. You won’t find anything like it on any celeb blog or news site.

Places is located at the bottom of a Spokeo Celebrity profile. To first locate a profile, simply type in the first and last name of the celebrity (i.e. "Justin Bieber"); once there you can scroll to the bottom of the page, or simply click "Places" in the sidebar. Like every other section of the profile, Places is entirely machine-generated: our crack team of engineers have created complex algorithms that parse masses of information pertaining to millions of famous people – everyone from Zooey Deschanel to Brad Pitt – and then assembles key chunks of the data in an easy-to-follow format. In this case, our algorithms look through tweet to find the most recent whereabouts of your fave celeb. What’s more, we lay out the celeb spottings on a calendar and map so you can follow their day-to-day excursions. Did you spot Lady Gaga in Arby’s at the Denver International Airport on Monday? Did you tweet about it? (Of course you did!) Our algorithms will immediately grab that tweet and add it to our calendar of recent spottings along with a map marker. There’s really nothing like it on the web, so book your favorite celeb profiles and check back often for the latest news, photos and spottings!
